Tutorial: Step by step

Step 1 Take off screen

We started by heating the screen at about 60ºC for about a minute, to soften the adhesive. With the hot screen, we introduce a flat tool between it and the frame. Sliding it around the contour we will take it off.

We will take care in the left part and in the inferior part, since we can damage some flex.

Step 2 Disconnect screen

Remove the shields covering the connectors, levering and releasing the notches that hold it. Then we disconnected the screen to be able to move it away.

Step 3 Remove heatsink

We remove the shielding that covers the processor to be able to remove the dissipator. Then we removed the four Torx T5 screws that hold the heatsink in the processor part and the remaining six Torx T4 screws.

Step 4 Remove components

Unseat the shield covering the connectors of the cameras to be able to remove them.

Step 5 Remove components

We remove the rear camera, the facial recognition camera and the upper rear microphone.

Step 6 Remove components

We remove the armor that we showed in the first four images where we will find several screws that hold the plate to the chassis. We will also remove the card reader and the charging connector.

Step 7 Removing the motherboard

We remove the left speaker and disconnect the components still connected to the motherboard. Then we remove the eight screws that hold the plate and disengage it.

Step 8 Remove battery

We heat the case to about 70ºC to soften the adhesive. Once hot, we introduce a flat tool below to take it off.

Step 9 Keyboard contacts

To finish, we take off the flex of the chassis and remove the two Torx T3 screws that hold it in order to remove it.
