Tutorial: Step by step

Step 1 SIM and microSD cards

Remove the SIM and SD cards from their corresponding slots.

Before starting make sure the phone is switched off.

Step 2 HOT GLASS

Insert the HOT GLASS in the microwave for the time specified in the instructions for use.

If you heat it too long, the gel inside will expand and the bag will be inflated until the content is poured.

The last minute in the microwave is advised to interrupt every 15 seconds and knead the gel inside with your hands to distribute the heat.

Step 3 Battery cover

Apply heat for a few minutes directly on the lid to heat the glue.

Step 4

Insert the tip of a plastic spike into the joint between the cover and the housing.

Starting with the small groove at the top, move the spike all the way around to remove the lid.

Do not use force as you can split the cover or damage some component. Repeat the previous step and apply heat as many times as necessary.

Step 5

Step 6 Battery

Remove the Phillips screw and disconnect the battery cable.

Step 7

Peel off the battery gently with a plastic tool.

If you apply too much force it can deform and damage the battery.

Step 8 Vibrator

Remove the small black pad that covers the vibrator connector.

Unplug and take off the vibrator.

Step 9 Intermediate housing

Remove the 4 Phillips screws.

Step 10 Speaker

Separate the plastic module where the speaker is placed.

Step 11 Motherboard

Spread the plate carefully from right to left as if it were the first page of a book.

Do not pull on it as it is still held by 2 connectors.

Step 12

To separate the plate, release the flex cable connectors from the side buttons.

Step 13 Handset

To detach the handset, perform lever movements with a pointed tool.

Step 14 Side buttons

To extract the flex circuits with the side buttons, hold them with tweezers and move them gently until they come out.

Step 15 Audio jack connector and proximity sensor

Separate the proximity connector and flex cable from the housing.

Step 16

Insert a plastic tipped tool through the audio connector and push it to release it.

Step 17

Apply heat for a few minutes with the Hot Glass.

Step 18

Insert a tine into the joint between the screen and the housing.

Move it around the contour gently to release the glue.

Try to avoid passing the prong through the flex cable area as it could damage or cut it.

Both the digitizer and the display are fragile, you should not force it as you could split them.

Repeat the previous step and apply heat as many times as necessary until it comes off easily.

Step 19

Separate the digitizer from the rest of the screen taking care that the flex cable does not get stuck or bend, as it could damage it.

To change only the glass window (in case of breakage, for example), consult the display separation guide:
