Tutorial: Step by step

Step 1 Take off screen

We will start by taking the screen. To do this, first remove the two Pentalobe 0.8 screws (TS1) that hold the screen to the housing.

Then, using a suction cup, we will make room to introduce a flat tool and remove the strip of adhesive that holds it.

Step 2 Disconnect screen

Now we will have to remove the shielding from the connectors on the motherboard. For this we will remove the five Triwing screws (Y0.6) that hold it.

Once the shield has been removed, we will disconnect the flexes from the screen and the headset.

Step 3 Remove shielding with antenna contacts

Remove the five Triwing screws (Y0.6) that hold the shield and remove it.

Now we will remove the screws that hold the speaker. A Phillips (PH # 00), a standoff and a triwing (Y0.6) that holds the shield of the speaker connector, which we will disconnect.

We remove the speaker and the vibrator to avoid that the adhesive strips of the battery break when pulling them. Therefore, it is not absolutely necessary to remove them.

Step 4 Remove speaker

We remove the last standoff screw that holds the speaker and take off the strip of adhesive that keeps it attached to the vibrator.

Step 5 Remove vibrator

Disconnect the vibrator and remove the two Phillips screws (PH # 00) that hold it. We will be careful since one of the screws holds an antenna contact that we could lose.

Step 6 Remove battery

Remove the four adhesive strips that hold the battery and disconnect it to remove it.

Step 7 Remove front camera module

We disconnect the three contacts of the front camera module from the base plate and we can undo it from the chassis.

Step 8 WiFi Antenna

Remove the seven Phillips screws (PH # 00) that hold the flex taking care not to lose the antenna contacts and the support indicated in blue boxes in the first image. After that, all that remains is to take off the flex of the chassis.
