Apple iPhone 5s - WIFI Antenna.

Guide with all the necessary steps so that you can change the wifi antenna of the iPhone 5s yourself.

Tutorial: Step by step

Step 1 Opening

Before starting make sure that the mobile is off.

Remove the 2 Pentalobe screws on the bottom of the iPhone.

Step 2

For the opening of the iPhone we suggest this tool with suction cups, it is easy to use and will avoid unnecessary damages.

Simply hold the iPhone with the suction cups, just above the "Home" button and press the tool to open it.

Step 3

If you do not have the suction cup tool, you can also do it manually.

Glue a suction cup just above the "Home" button and pull up while holding and prying the joint with the plastic opening tool.

If you pull too hard you can break the flex cable of the fingerprint reader.

Step 4

Remove the metal shield covering the flex connector from the fingerprint reader.

Step 5

Disconnect the flex cable from the fingerprint reader. This will allow you to separate the screen except the upper part, still attached to the base plate by the flex cables.

Step 6 Baseboard connectors

Remove the metal shield covering the connectors, held by 4 Phillips screws.

Step 7 screen

Disconnect the flex cables from the motherboard and separate the screen.

Step 8 Battery

Remove the metal shield covering the battery connector, held by two Phillips screws.

Step 9

Disconnect the battery from the motherboard.

Step 10

Pull the small black ribbon to remove the adhesive bands that hold the battery.

Step 11

Once the adhesive is removed, remove the battery.

Replace the adhesive strips to install it again.

Step 12 SIM tray

Remove the SIM tray.

Step 13

Remove the rubber that covers the rear camera.

Step 14 Rear camera

Unplug the camera from the motherboard and pull it gently to remove it.

Step 15 Vibrator

Remove the metal support from the vibrator, held by 2 Phillips screws.

Step 16

Remove the Phillips screw from the top.

Remove the vibrator.

Step 17 Flex inferior.

Disconnect and take off the lower flex.

Disconnect the coaxial antenna cable.

Step 18 Motherboard

Remove the 4 Standoff screws (marked in pink) and the 3 Phillips screws (marked in red) that hold the motherboard.

For the Standoff screws we suggest a flat-head screwdriver.

Step 19

Finally, disconnect the coaxial cable that connects to the wifi antenna on the back of the motherboard.

Step 20 Flex and volume, ignition and lock keys

Remove the metal support held by 2 Phillips screws.

Step 21

Remove the Phillips screw and the black rubber part that covers the ignition button holder.

Step 22

Remove the flash backwards, leaving enough space for the power button support.

Step 23 Power button.

Move the bracket inwards until there is enough space and remove the button with the clips.

Step 24 Volume and blocking keys.

Remove the 3 Phillips screws that hold the volume and lock button holders.

Step 25

Remove the volume and lock keys with the clamps.

Step 26 Flex of side buttons, microphone and flash.

Remove metal dough contact.

Step 27

Carefully lift the flex out of the housing.

Step 28

Take off the microphone.

Step 29

Release the power button holder. It is fastened by a pin like a hinge.

Just push it inwards and pull gently when it reaches 90º to the case.

Step 30

Finally separate the complete flex.

Step 31 WIFI Antenna

Carefully remove the WIFI antenna from the housing.
