Step 2 Heat and take off back cover

We will start by removing the back cover. This is stuck to the frame, so we will heat it to soften the adhesive. We will put it on the thermal pad for about 40 seconds at 50-60ºC.

When it is hot we will introduce a pick or other opening tool between the lid and the frame, and sliding it around the contour, we will take it off.

We will also remove the label from the phone so that it does not disturb.

Step 3 Remove intermediate housing

To remove the intermediate housing with antenna, we will have to remove the ten Phillips screws (PH # 000) that attach it to the chassis and then we will disengage it. We must not forget to disconnect the NFC antenna and detach the flash from the rear camera before removing it.

Step 4 Disconnect components

In this step we begin to disconnect the components of the battery to be able to withdraw it later. We will disconnect the USB connector, the cameras and also remove the speaker module.

Step 5 Sim and microSD cards

Before removing the motherboard, we will have to remove the SD and SIM cards, to prevent them from snagging when removed.

To remove the SD card, we will press it lightly and it will be ejected automatically. To remove the SIM card we will have to pull the tray with tweezers.

Step 6 Remove components

Now we will remove the piece of plastic that we will find in one of the sides, which is responsible for keeping the buttons fixed and holding the base plate. We will also take off the lower microphone and disengage as much as we can the audio connector.

Step 7 Unplug motherboard

Now we can undo the plate of the chassis but we still can not remove it. We will lift it by the connector side of the NFC antenna so as not to damage the flex.

We will take advantage to remove the adhesive that covers the connectors of the flex screen and the flex of push buttons, vibrator, etc.

Step 8 Disconnect flex cables

In this step we will disconnect the flex cables that are still connected to the motherboard. To do this, we will lift the safety tab of the connectors and pull the flex until it is removed.

Step 9 Battery

To finish we will take off the battery from the motherboard. For this we will pull the two tabs that it brings in one of the lateral ones. By pulling them without bending or twisting them, we can remove the adhesive easily. In case it breaks, it will have to be detached by inserting a flat tool between the battery and the plate.
