Tutorial: Step by step

Step 1 Samsung Galaxy A5

Characteristics:
Dimensions: 139.3 x 69.7 x 6.7 mm.
Weight: 123 g.
Display: Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors. 720 x 1280 pixels, 5.0 inches.
Processor: Qualcomm MSM8916 Snapdragon 410 quad-core 1.2GHz, GPU Adreno 306.
Memory: microSD up to 64GB. 16GB internal memory, 2GB RAM.
Rear camera: 13 MP, 4128 x 3096 pixels.
Front camera: 5 MP.
Battery: Li-Ion 2300 mAh.
Operating system: Android OS, v4.4.4 KitKat.

Step 2 SIM and microSD cards

We will start by removing the SIM and microSD cards. For this we will use the tray opening tool that the phone brings us. Pressing through the holes in the trays will eject them.

Step 3 Heat screen

In this step we will need to heat the glass to soften the glue and thus be able to remove the screen more easily.

Below we will see two ways to perform this step.

We will use a high thermal retention blanket (HOT GLASS) to heat the glass.

Insert the HOT GLASS in the microwave for the time specified in the instructions.

To heat it evenly, it is necessary to interrupt the microwave every 30 seconds to distribute heat throughout the HOT GLASS with your hands.

The gun emits VERY hot air, use with caution.

We recommend the use at minimum power and short bursts, since excess heat can damage the equipment.

Warm the screen to soften the glue and be able to easily peel it off.

Step 4 Take off screen

With the hot screen, we will introduce a spike between the frame and the glass to be taken off. We will help with a suction cup to be able to introduce the tine more easily.

The screen is also pasted by the center, we will introduce a longer tool to take it off. We will do this step very carefully so as not to damage the insulation of the screen.

Special attention must be paid when removing the lower part of the phone so as not to damage the flex lights of the buttons. When taking off this part, we will avoid laterally moving the barb, especially in the areas of the buttons.

Step 5 Remove screen

To finally remove the screen, we will have to disconnect it first from the motherboard.

Step 6 Chassis

In order to extract the chassis we will have to first remove the twelve Phillips screws (PH # 00) that hold it. Once removed, we will use a spatula to pry it off the frame.

Step 7 Screw on the motherboard

To get to the handset, we will have to remove the motherboard. This is held by a single Phillips screw (PH # 00) but we will have to disconnect the components connected to it.

Step 8 Disconnect components

In this step we disconnect the components connected to the motherboard. We disconnect the lower antenna coaxial cable, the flex from the side power button, the battery connector and the upper antenna coaxial cable.

Before separating the base plate we will have to disconnect it from the bottom plate. These are connected directly, so to disconnect them we will use a spatula in the place shown in the photos.

Step 9 Flex with volume push buttons, microphone and antenna connectors

Finally we will take off the chassis plate.
